5 Favourite Features in Traditional Kitchen Design
At CNK Designs the style and vision shared by our clients at consultation stage is the most important element in each and every individual kitchen. Whether that style is traditional, contemporary, modern or something completely different; we thrive on bringing their vision to life regardless of the genre. While we don’t therefore have a favourite style, we do have a few features in every style that we feel can set the tone.
Our hope with this article is that if you are planning your new kitchen or perhaps are at new build stage, that these ideas simply give you inspiration, whether you are looking on from another country or based locally to County Down in Northern Ireland and we are a part of that journey with you.
1. Solid Quartz Worktops
Who doesn’t love the look, hard wearing capabilities and style that a quartz worktop has to offer. In almost every traditional or country style kitchen completed in the last few years, our clients have included this worktop in a variety of different edge profiles. We will soon have a blog explaining the different edge profiles for anyone that’s new to them, but in the meantime let us simply share that the ‘Ogee’ edge profile shown above is a firm favourite and we can see why.
2. Pendant lighting in decadent or rustic styles
Both options work equally well in emphasising the tone of your kitchen and when matched with the cabinet handle colour, they can make an extra impact!
3. Warm and neutral colour palettes
Neutral colour tones in a kitchen can be adapted to any look, and with traditional styles they can add notes of calm while also achieving an elegant sophistication. If going for more than one colour, choosing the right colour combination is key to ensure they compliment each other in the variety of lighting your kitchen is exposed to within any 24 hour period. This is why we can offer every Farrow and Ball colour and spray in-house so every element crafted by us is just right and bespoke to your home.
4. Decorative accents and details
These can vary widely and while some clients like a pilaster to add character, others go for more square outlines around their cooker hoods with extra deep mantles for seasonal decorations and style. We are grateful for a workshop team who thrive in making our designers drawings come to life regardless of the magnitude of each design.
5. Traditional taps
As Quooker stockists, we are able to offer the traditional style of the ‘Pro 3 Classic Fusion tap’ without compromising on features, as it comes with instant boiling water and should the client request it, can also come with filtered water, ice cold or sparkling water capabilities aswell. Available in polished chrome, patinated brass, nickel, or brushed stainless steel to suit the look and style of your kitchen. Click here for further info and pricing.
