Every great kitchen tells a story, and this one is no exception. Designed in close collaboration with the homeowner, this space is a testament to the power of thoughtful design—where timeless tradition meets contemporary luxury. Every detail has been meticulously curated to honour the home’s existing character while introducing refined, modern elements that enhance both form and function.
A Vision Rooted in Heritage
From the outset, our client had a clear vision: a kitchen that would seamlessly integrate with the historic charm of her home while offering the sophistication and practicality of modern craftsmanship. Included in this vision was a striking red brick mantle, which the client was keen to embrace as the heart of the space while housing a classic Aga stove. We crafted bespoke cabinetry to frame the stove and enhance it’s presence so old and new could exist in harmony.
A Palette of Purity and Contrast
To balance the rich warmth of the red brick, we fitted Wakefield Solid Painted cabinetry in Brilliant White. This choice brings a sense of crisp elegance, offering a striking yet complimentary contrast to the traditional elements. The sleek, soft-close units rise to the ceiling architecture at 2300mm high, ensuring ample storage while accentuating the room’s generous proportions.
Select cabinets feature reeded glass doors, an exquisite detail that introduces texture while allowing glimpses of carefully curated interiors. This delicate feature reflects the interplay of light and shadow, softening the structured lines of the cabinetry and reinforcing the theme of understated luxury.
Exquisite Stone & Signature Details
The worktops, crafted from Calacatta Primio Quartz, provide a luminous surface that exudes both elegance and resilience. The subtle veining of the quartz complements the kitchen’s neutral tones, while a bevelled edge adds a refined touch of craftsmanship. Thoughtfully incorporated into this stone masterpiece is a fluted double Belfast sink, complete with a fluted drainer—a classic yet practical feature that echoes the home’s traditional roots.
Adding warmth and vintage charm, an Old English traditional swan neck tap in brass provides the perfect finishing flourish, its golden hue offering a subtle contrast against the cool white tones of the cabinetry and quartz.

At the centre of the kitchen stands a stunning, long dining table—an inviting focal point that lends itself perfectly to entertaining. Whether hosting a casual brunch or a lavish dinner, this space is designed to bring people together, creating a warm and sociable atmosphere. The room’s open flow is further enhanced by elegant patio doors, which open out onto a picturesque garden, blurring the boundary between indoors and out.
Hidden Surprises & Thoughtful Touches
One of the kitchen’s most charming features is a hidden door, cleverly disguised as a cupboard. This seamless design element not only enhances the aesthetic but also provides discreet access to the adjoining utility room, maintaining the kitchen’s clean and cohesive look. It’s these carefully considered details that make this space both highly functional and visually striking. Within that space you can also find spice racks making clever use of the shallow storage offered there.
Illuminating Every Detail
Lighting was a crucial aspect of bringing this vision to life. To enhance the kitchen’s welcoming ambience, we installed COB lighting in warm white, casting a gentle glow that highlights the exquisite details throughout. This soft illumination complements the natural light that pours through the windows, where breath-taking views of a stone wall outside reiterate the balance between heritage and modernity woven throughout this home.
